Uhf tv antenna homemade
TV Antennas have been around for many years - and people have tried all sorts of unsightly things to "fix" them or make them work better - anything from attaching a metal clothes hangar to aluminum foil! I realized it doesn't work and I don't want to waste my money on more of these faulty antennas. Sometimes the best way to fix something is to Do It Yourself!!! I decided to get rid of cable television many months ago. Antennas seemed to be a thing of the past - didn't even think about trying to use one.

Watch Television For Free - DIY Digital TV Antenna
Build your own digital TV antenna from wire hangers, a piece of wood and some pipe. Television antennas are comprised of a series of metal rods cut to exact lengths and positioned so they receive a particular television frequency. The following design was invented in the s by an engineer named Doyt Hoverman. It is particularly sensitive in the UHF frequency range, the same range used for the majority of digital television transmissions. All credit goes to Make:television for posting the attached instruction PDF. I put this project here because I completed it and wanted to add my comments. I omitted the base which I didn't build, and updated the schematic.

Build the Pennyloop UHF Antenna
If you don't want to spend upwards of 70 bucks like I did on a not so great performing Yagi style antenna. Then build this diy hdtv antenna for almost nothing and get better results. It always dropped out at the most inconvenient time.

The Pennyloop UHF antenna offers high performance in a very simple and cost effective design. It is also a very compact design lending itself well to a variety of mounting options and locations inside and outside. Outside will give the best performance. The Pennyloop antenna started out as a single loop antenna and could be used with a reflector.
