The workshop, led by a team of talented teaching artists with experience illustrating and devising comic books, will result in a graphic memoir collection confronting the current climate of xenophobia and changing the narrative about America's immigrants. As youth immigrants and activists, the Latino Youth Leadership Council of LAYC recognized the urgent need for youth-driven OwnVoices stories to provided a human face to the current immigration debate.
